Hey dj - I stumbled across a thread you started on the mygolfspy forum related to the restoration you did on an M65W. It looked really good - do you happen to recall what colour stain you used?
I've got one that's going to need staining before too long...

Yes, that was stained with Minwax Red Mahogany stain. I was really happy with how that one came out, it was in very poor condition.
Do you have a solid game plan for redoing your scoring line?
Not beyond filing a hacksaw blade down so it's nice and narrow. Any other suggestions?
Or maybe a coping saw?
I use this saw that I purchased for building guitars. It works perfect for cutting scoring lines as it has two teeth sections. One is for cutting on the push stroke, one on the pull stroke.
Stew Mac Refret Saw
I used this saw on the M65 I did and it worked beautifully.
I have the .020” blade thickness
Oooh - I like the look of that! Might have to try and hunt one down :-)
Or go on Amazon and look for a Zona saw with a kerf of .015”-.020”. Will be a little harder to use as the insert screws will be in the way, that’s why I like the refret saw.
Perfect fit.
Oh yeah - I can see how that would work well with the insert screws. Is the kerf the same as the blade thickness?
Yes, technically the kerf width is the width of the cut but it has become interchangeable to mean blade width.
And yes, with a normal saw you need to angle it or manipulate it in other ways to work around the screws. With this saw it isn’t a problem at all.
So something with a blade width of 0.018 would be OK? Just looking at hobby/modelling saws on a local site here.
And just an fyi that’s a Stan Thomason wood which comes with scoring lines cut through the screws. 😁
Good to clear that up haha
Yeah, a .018” kerf should be perfect.
Got myself one of these - https://excelblades.com/products/pull-saw-blade-2-deep-16-teeth-in?_pos=4&_sid=eba1f220e&_ss=r
Seems to work really well. Not to expensive and widely available :-)
@sglyon
That should work nicely.
